It was announced today that the UK will supply the entire population with a Swine Flu vaccination to stop the spread of Swine Flu in the country. The vaccinations will arrive in Britain in roughly two months and will start to be administered to people with serious under-lying health problems.

This will be cleared in the next five days meaning that 20 million people will be inoculated by Christmas 2009. The first lot of vaccinations will be made available to the elderly, GP’s and A&E workers, Policeman as well as people with serious underlying health problems.

Fifteen deaths have now been confirmed by the National Health Service (NHS) as Swine Flu related and that number is set to dramatically increase. UK health secretary Andy Burnham warned 100,000 people a day could be struck by the bug by the end of next month which is a staggering statistic. Peter Holden, the British Medical Association’s lead negotiator on swine flu, said: “High risk groups will be vaccinated at GP’s surgeries as soon as the vaccination is made available.

Many people are still making decisions over this but we want the NHS want to get cracking now before we get a second wave which is traditionally more virulent according to NHS chiefs.
