The netbook market has been growing exponentially these days. Every major and minor companies have given a try and still continue to try to fit themselves in this competitive market. . The Mini doesn´t present any sort of obvious new aspect on its design, in fact it might look too boxy for a few people.

.Bottom line – The Asus sure seems more beautiful in a first look, but the decision is up to you as it is a very subjective aspect. The differences between the two netbooks are small.

.Mini – it comes with a 6-cell battery which can last for a decent amount of time (7hours) during a non-demanding workline. With a demanding workline it can last up to 5 hours.

.Bottom line – The Asus Eee’s battery beats the Mini’s by approximately one hour. Both netbooks have a good battery though.

Bottom line – The Eee could take this round by being a little lighter but it is also thicker than the Mini. On the other hand the Eee is lighter…your shoulders might thank you (trust me).

.The Mini is equipped with a Intel Atom N270 with 1.6GHz clock. It also comes with 1GB DDR2 SDRAM (667).

.The Eee is equipped with a Intel Atom N280 with 1.6GHz clock. Alos comes with 1GB DDR2 SDRAM (667)

Bottom line – The Eeec’s processor is slightly faster than the Mini’s one. For practical use is might be barely noticeable unless the netbook is being used on the edge of performance.

Keyboard

.The Mini’s keyboard represents 95% of a normal sized keyboard. That is a great size for a netbook. Besides it is water resistant because it comes with a “coat” over the keys.

.The Eee comes with an average keyboard. Nothing special about it.

Bottom line – The Mini doesn’t even need to step on the ring for this one.

Screen

.The Mini has a screen whose resolution is 1024 per 576 pixels. It displays a bright and glossy image.

.The Eee’s resolution is a little better 1024 per 600 pixels with a birght and clear image.

Bottom line – The Eec might have won this round by points since a bigger resolution is always welcome.

Price

.The Mini can be bought by an average 450$ (basic configuration)

.The Eee can be found at 350$ (basic configuration)

Bottom line – The Eee is more budget-friendly. When the two netbook present very similar configuration the Eee takes this round with one hand tied.

. Summing up both of these netbooks are really good. It will be a hard choice, probably defined by a detail or, naturally, brand preference. Both brands have specific types of customers. In my view the Mini stands out basically by it’s comfortable keyboard that is very appreciated during travels. The Eee’s biggest advantage could be it’s price and guaranteed performance. If i had to pick i would go with the Eee since I do seem to get along with Asus’ machines (plus it’s always good to save some money).
