To say that I was an article on health nut would be an understatement but today I try not read anything health related at all. My friends thought I had become a health and fitness nut and I suppose I had. It’s very easy to become obsessive in an area of your life once you have been obsessive an another and that was me because after being as fat as I was and then losing the weight, I wanted to stay that way.

Any articles on health I could find to help with my fitness, diet, supplements to help prolong life, I would read them. When you find that writers of articles on health alter the results of the information they give each time an article is written it is not surprising people end up getting angry and ignoring them.
It is not unusual to find an article say on soy which claims how good it is for you to find another article that says to avoid it because it has a strange effect on male hormones and that it increases the chances of food allergens.
It’s not hard to understand, all I want to be able to do is find the best way to keep myself fit and healthy for as long as possible.

Sometimes you become your own worst enemy by reading all the articles that contradict because you just become confused and disillusioned. Until recently, alcohol was thought of as bad for you, as were chocolate, and coffee. It makes you wonder which way to turn because all these things which we have always enjoyed and have been told are bad for us are now, surprise, surprise, good for us as long as we don’t overdo them. It won’t be long before these same scientists are telling us that new research shows that cake, ice-cream and fast food are the best foods to eat to lower you cholesterol.

Well it took some time but all these so called experts have managed to do is make people wary about what they are told and to be responsible for themselves. So I have decided I can still read as many articles on health that I like but choose how much notice I should or should not take of them. My experience with articles on health is that they do have some worthwhile information on exercising correctly and nutritional information but as for the rest, well that will be up to me. Of course I want to have a healthier life and be happier at the same time but I believe it is now down to my judgment with very little interference from the food police.
